Facilities at the African Centre

The African Centre will consist of a large sports hall, the public library, a community room and a community café.

Community Spaces

The centre has a number of rooms available for hire, for meetings, parties or events.

There will have free WiFi throughout the building, PCs and a photocopier to be used in the library during its opening hours.

Lockers will be available to store your valuables and the building caters for disabled people including wheelchair accessible shower and toilet facilities. Group shower and changing facilities are available in the adjoining pavilion. They need to be booked in advance and incur a small extra charge to cover water heating and cleaning.

We would prefer the Centre to have a playing field, which has outdoor sporting facilities such as football and rugby pitches, outdoor tennis courts and a children’s play area.

Sports Hall: For sports, large functions, parties and events
Rooms: For classes, wellbeing and therapy sessions, children’s parties and small functions, meetings and gatherings, regular clubs
Library: For adult education, book groups, meetings
Kitchen: For events with additional catering
